Metacode/DJDE/LCDS to PS (Adobe PostScript) conversion

CRTeurope provides a smooth migration path that allows organizations to combine their applications designed for high volume laser printers with the advantages of distributed network architectures.

METACODE/DJDE/LCDS to PS (Adobe PostScript) converts print streams and resources from Xerox LCDS, Metacode and DJDE to Adobe PostScript formats.

The framework uses a print stream transform technology which accesses the Xerox print resources as they are needed. One of the keys to the success of the solution is its superior font mapping and fidelity. It has the flexibility to map fonts to either standard PostScript or embedded Type 1 fonts. The same font mapping rules apply to encrypted Xerox fonts.

Automatically converts Xerox images and .IMG files into PostScript compressed images and automatically embeds the images in the output PostScript file; creates small and compact PostScript files that can quickly be routed to a printer permitting rated speed of operation. Both Xerox LCDS and Metacode, including DJDE, formats are converted.

The solution supports all of the Xerox centralized printer capabilities, including stapling, paper tray mapping, highlight colour mapping, multiple colour printing, tumble, duplex or simplex printing. All paper sizes of Legal, A4 and custom are also supported.

Any data in the print file can be used as Bookmarks and automatically organized into multiple levels, for easy navigation. Index rules can be set up, allowing indexing on multiple criteria.

SOLUTION BENEFITS

  • Output is optimized for production speed and performance.
  • Allows a single printer to be used for printing both PostScript and LCDS/Metacode/DJDE.
  • Compact PostScript files optimized for desktop and high-speed production printing.
  • A choice of platforms that includes Linux, Solaris, HP-UX, AIX, z/OS all versions (including zLinux) and Windows.
