AFP to Xerox Metacode conversion.
CRT provides a way for organizations to print Advanced Function Printing AFP applications on Xerox printers by transforming them using a powerful Solution which provides a smooth migration path for AFP printer clients who want to print their applications on Xerox printers without making costly application and architecture changes.
One of the keys to the success of the solution is its extended resource handling. AFP printer fonts can be automatically converted to Xerox fonts embedded in the print file. The solution also offers the flexibility to map fonts to any Xerox printer fonts. AFP overlays are converted to Xerox Metacode allowing any number of overlays on each page. Images are converted to compressed Xerox images and embedded in the output file.
The solution optimizes the Metacode, creating small and compact Metacode files that can quickly be routed to a printer permitting rated print speeds.
