CRTeurope is providing a smooth migration path and cost effective solution for moving Xerox printer customers who want to move their applications to distributed Desktop and LAN printers without making costly application changes. PRO META to PCL product dynamically converts Xerox LCDS and Metacode documents to PCL for printing on Desktop and LAN printers. PCL documents can also be sent to a file for interactive database usage, storage or archival.
 
 



 
  With PRO META to PCL, Xerox fonts appear the same on Desktop and LAN printers as they do on Xerox printers. Using its sophisticated tailoring capability, PRO META to PCL can support unique applications and configurations. Custom fonts and logos are dynamically transformed to PCL, providing superior image fidelity. Character and word placement is identical to that on Xerox printers.

The key to the power and flexibility of PRO META to PCL is the way it manages print resources. It automatically converts Xerox resources into PCL resources, thus optimizing and simplifying the implementation process. Xerox fonts can either be automatically converted to PCL bitmap fonts or mapped to printer-resident PCL fonts. Xerox forms are automatically converted to PCL macros and IMG images are converted to PCL compressed images, which are embedded in the output PCL file. Converted fonts, logos and images can be kept and reused, thus speeding up the transform process.

PRO META to PCL is optimized for production-speed and performance with low resource usage and fast execution time. It also supports an unlimited number of printers in any network configuration. Support is provided for edge-to-edge printing, multiple copy printing and Xerox B&W functionality.
